The family pet cat from Nottingham, England is praised for its quick action to save its owner’s life.
Sam Felstead, from Nottingham in the UK experienced a life-and-death moment in the middle of the night. A 42-year-old woman was sleeping soundly when she had a heart attack.
Sam Felstead couldn’t move his body, and the pain was like being shot in the right side. Lucky for her, a quick-witted 7-year-old cat named Billy hit her, waking her at 4:30 a.m.
Sam Felstead seemed to regain consciousness, called her mother in the next room for help, then she was taken to Nottingham City Hospital.
The doctors said that Sam’s artery was blocked causing the heart attack. Sam Felstead’s doctor said it was unfortunate that she had a heart attack in her sleep and fortunately it was her pet cat Billy who saved her life.
Sam Felstead shared: “I was a bit shocked, I went to bed and felt fine. I even played with the normal dogs. Before that I did not feel sick or unusually uncomfortable. I just woke up. when the cat touched me, his head was sweaty and couldn’t move Billy hit my chest, he squealed loudly in my ear. Normally the cat slept a lot and was very sound, but that day he didn’t seem to be. sleep and save my life. I feel so lucky.”
Sam Felstead’s alarm clock will sound in about 2 hours, but luckily the cat wakes up before that.
Sam Felstead said: “The cat has never woke me up in the middle of the night, it never bothered anyone, is very conscious. It has never woken family members because of wanting to eat. My mother was shocked to hear the whole story recounted. I felt so grateful, glad the cat woke me up. Who knows what would have happened if the cat hadn’t woken up and banged on me. I was right at the time.”
