A stunning video shows orcas consuming a shark as if it were a meal.
A fleet of predators kills a great white shark in Mossel Bay, South Africa, as captured by drone footage.
Alison Towner, a scientist who recently published a paper on the rare predation of great white sharks by orcas, told The Daily Beast: “I really think the footage will go viral once it’s aired.”
The video shows the 9-foot-long apex predator hemorrhaging as an orca bites into its liver.
Towner, who has spent fifteen years researching the ecology of great white sharks, calls the violent footage “one of the most beautiful pieces of natural history ever filmed.”
“This is the first video captured by a drone of orcas feeding on a great white shark,” he explained.

In South Africa, such precise tests have never been documented before.
Over the years, scientists have collected data on great white sharks migrating from their habitats, shark carcasses washing up on beaches without livers, and changes in the cyclical behaviors of whales.
