This adorable polar bear cub may only be 14 weeks old, but he’s already got plenty of charm. Pictures taken last Friday at Munich’s Hellabrunn Zoo show the baby bear jumping on rocks, playing hide-and-seek, enjoying some pretzels, and bravely exploring the surroundings without the slightest sign of shyness. Oh, and at one point, the cute bear even winks at the camera!
The newborn bear cub is the third child for 10-year-old mother bear Giovanna, who gave birth to twins named Nela and Nobby three years ago. Both polar bear cubs left the zoo in 2016, with Nela ending up in the Netherlands and Nobby going to Doncaster. Now all Giovanna’s attention is on the little one, who has yet to be named.
“We are delighted to see the cub’s daily progress,” said zoo director Rasem Baban. “For Giovanna, the real work as a mother bear now begins, as she will have to keep an eye on the little one. But she will manage even this without any problem.”
“[The little pup] is in excellent shape and full of energy, and weighs an impressive 8.4 kilos (around 18 pounds)
