Cristiano Ronaldo and Mike Tyson were present at the Diriyah Arena in Riyadh, joining a group of renowned personalities to witness the eagerly awaited encounter between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury.
Ronaldo, who had recently achieved a hat-trick for Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr, graced the event with his presence. The 38-year-old was captured sitting beside his son prior to the fight.
Tyson, accompanied by esteemed former and current heavyweight champions such as Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury (Tommy’s older half-brother), was among the distinguished guests.
Notable boxers present included Joseph Parker from New Zealand, Derek Chisora representing Britain, Devin Haney, the reigning undisputed lightweight world champion from the United States, and former welterweight world champion Shawn Porter.
The ringside area also welcomed the presence of comedian Kevin Hart.
After two unsuccessful attempts, the much-anticipated fight is now underway. In the first scheduled bout of 2021, Fury withdrew due to injury and illness. Travel complications then hindered his journey to America in August.
Paul, who rose to fame as a YouTuber before transitioning to professional boxing, has maintained an undefeated record of 6-0. Meanwhile, Fury boasts a record of 8-0, with Paul being his most renowned challenger thus far.
The 26-year-old Paul is projected to earn approximately $12 million from the fight, while Fury is expected to receive around $6.5 million.
