A killer whale leaps out of the water, flies into the air and grabs a dolphin, creating a spectacular display at sunset off the coast of Mexico.
“It’s a wonderful image,” said photographer Christopher Swann, who took the striking photos.
The whale jumped into the air at a height of more than 4m.
According to the photographer, the whales had a two-hour chase with the dolphins. “We couldn’t tell exactly where they were, because they kept appearing and disappearing,” said Christopher Swann.
Spotting its prey, the whale dived into the water.
After more than two hours, the dolphin became a delicious meal for the “ocean killer”. According to Wikipedia, the killer whale is the largest species of dolphin and the most ferocious carnivorous whale in the ocean.
